San Francisco is an active city, but activity always comes with the risk of sports injuries. When an injury strikes the foot or ankle, it can be especially debilitating and frustrating to deal with.
We provide expert sports injury treatment for conditions including (but not limited to):
- Achilles tendinitis
- Stress fractures
- Problems caused by gait abnormalities (e.g. flat feet, overpronation) or foot deformities (e.g. bunions).
Our approach to sports injuries focuses on enabling as fast and effective a recovery as possible, helping you to stay moving in safe ways during the interim and preventing further problems from developing.
Physical therapy, the use of custom orthotics, and MLS laser therapy have been effective parts of many treatment plans.
Heel pain is one of the most frequent symptoms we treat, and can stem from a range of different problems.
The key to treating heel pain is to determine not only the condition causing the problem (e.g. plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinitis, etc.) but also the source of that condition.
Is a structural abnormality in your feet putting excess pressure on parts of your foot? Is your footwear causing extra trouble? What about your work environment? The more we know about how your heel pain affects your life, the more focused and effective we can be with a treatment plan.
Skin and nail care is not just about aesthetics; it’s also about maintaining the health of our front-line defenses against injury and infection.
We provide comprehensive treatment for conditions such as:
- Plantar warts
- Fungal toenail infections
- Dryness and cracking
- Corns and calluses
- Ingrown toenails
Many problems can arise from deviations in the normal structure of the foot. Conditions from flat feet to high arches can shift weight unevenly over the foot, lending to problems such as plantar fasciitis or neuromas, and even helping to make deformities such as bunions progressively worse.
Custom orthotics are often a recommended form of treatment when such problems inhibit overall foot health and comfort. Depending upon the condition and its severity, either pre-fabricated or custom-made orthotics may be used to better redistribute weight and take excess pressure off sensitive areas.
We are also proud to provide MLS laser therapy as an advanced treatment option for many patients. The MLS laser system uses specific frequencies of light energy to stimulate a cellular response.
This increases blood flow to the area and can accelerate or reignite cellular repairs in the site of an injury.
